Solo exhibition of Tamilla Hasanova held in Paris
3.10.2018

The opening of the solo exhibition of Azerbaijani artist Tamilla Gasanova, entitled "Vacations in Azerbaijan", supported by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in France and the Association Dialogue France-Azerbaijan was held at the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Paris on October 1.

The artist impressed everyone with her unusual concept and presented Azerbaijan to the foreign public in a completely new way. Combining what seemed to be incompatible, mixing the decades and sides of the world together. Her work is a journey, this is the spirit of times, this is the charm and aura of our beloved country.

“The idea of the exhibition was conceived a long time ago, I wanted to present Azerbaijan as a romantic, enchanting, amazing, modern style place where the East and West connects, turning into something perfect and harmonious.

And finally it all came together: I transferred my concept of "images of the 50s" to today's Azerbaijan. Girls dressed in New look walking through the center of Baku, looking at the sights and immersing into its unique atmosphere. The ardent lovers of skiing conquer the snow-capped Shahdag mountain, but those who prefer quiet rest, find peace in the incredible landscapes that open from the highest point of the funicular. A gentleman walks leisurely in a night city. A girl who dreams to meet her love, looks at the palace of Murtuza Mukhtarov, behind which is an incredible love story. All this is Azerbaijan, so different and unique. For me it was very important to convey the spirit, the aura: after all, emotions - that is what the artist is playing with. After all, in painting attracts not only the obvious, the visible, but also something else, something that excites at the level of the subconscious, something that cannot be explained. Azerbaijan is like this: it cannot be described in words - you can only feel it …”

The exhibition in Paris became a debut for a young artist in Europe.

The artist had three solo exhibitions in Baku, one of which was held as part of the autumn art festival in PortBaku under the title "Spirit" and it was the first time when the concept of the "images of the 50s" was introduced, which was continued in today's exhibition in Paris.

Also in the spring of this year there was an exhibition where Tamilla presented the works dedicated to Formula 1, starting from the 1950s of the last century to the present day, which is also an innovation in Azerbaijani art.

The artist's works are kept in private collections all around the world.

The exhibition in Paris will last until October 7, 2018.
