The motor rally of friendship between India and Azerbaijan is aimed at popularizing the route of the North-South transport corridor.

Ambassador of India to Azerbaijan Sanjay Rana said at the press conference.

He noted that the rally "India-Azerbaijan INSTC Motor Car Rally" symbolically passes through the territory of partner countries of the North-South corridor: Azerbaijan, Iran, Russia and India.

"Azerbaijan is a key player, a country where North-South and East-West transport corridors intersect. From this point of view Azerbaijan understands its role, invests the necessary capital and fully supports its implementation" - he said.

The 10,000 km auto race started from the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas and on May 4 rally participants will reach the Azerbaijani part of the route, they will arrive in Baku on May 5, and then they will go to Russia. 20 cars take part in the rally.
