Final investment decision on "Absheron" gas condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea is expected to be made in first quarter of 2018, said Denis Lemarchal, Executive Director of the field operator Total E&P Azerbaijan.
He noted that drilling of the first well will start in January.
"We have already adopted a decision on launch of drilling of the first well in January and on relevant investments. Also, we are still in the FEED stage and contract will be signed at the end of this stage. Final investment decision will not take place before the contract. I think the decision will be made approximately in March next year", the executive director said.
