The Beekeepers Association of Azerbaijan is preparing a project for restoration of beekeeping in Jojug Marjanli village, Chairman of the Association Badraddin Hasratov told on September 28.

“This region has historically been famous for its beekeeping. We want not only to restore beekeeping in Jojug Marjanli, but also to achieve a significant increase in production in this region,” he said.

Hasratov said that soon the Association reps will visit the village for a more thorough examination of its beekeeping history.

Hasratov added that financing of this project is not yet a subject of discussion. “We have not thought of funding yet. Most likely, part of the project cost will be covered by our own funds. As for the rest, I hope that we will find funding sources," he said.

Jojug Marjanli village of Azerbaijan's Jabrayil region was liberated by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces from the Armenian occupation in April 2016. In late January 2017, President Ilham Aliyev ordered to restore the village.

During the first phase of restoration, 50 private houses, a school, mosque, electric substation, hydrometeorological station, highway and other relevant infrastructure were constructed in Jojug Marjanli. The village was provided with gas, electricity and water supply.

The second phase of construction and restoration work and work on improvement and creation in Jojug Marjanli started on June 15 this year, and currently construction of 100 more new houses is ongoing in the village.
