Azerbaijani national football team has held its first test match in 2017.
The team, managed by Robert Prosinečki, played away match with Qatar.
The game in Al-Saad stadium, Doha, ended with win of the Azerbaijani national team - 2:1. All 3 goals were scored after the break. Tarlan Guliyev opened the scoring in the 53rd minute. After 3 minutes, the home side scored the equalizer. However, in the 63rd minute, Araz Abdullayev scored winning goal of the match.
Earlier, Azerbaijani and Qatar national teams played once - on May 29, 2013, and ended the game in 1:1 draw. Currently, Qatar ranks 85th in FIFA rankings, Azerbaijan 89th.
