Managing Partner of Deloitte Azerbaijan elected AmCham new President

The American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham has held its Annual General Meeting for electing the President and new members to the Board of Directors.
Natavan Mammadova, Executive Director of AmCham Azerbaijan, opened the General Assembly Meeting by introducing the candidates to the Board of Directors and passing the floor to candidates for delivering their platforms.
According to the current position of the Board, 6 seats out of 10 were vacant. Mr. Gunduz Karimov, Managing Partner in Baker McKenzie’s was guiding the elections procedure and announced six newly elected Board of Directors: Mr. Vugar Aliyev, Managing partner of KPMG Azerbaijan; Mr. Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, Vice President for communications, government affairs and strategy of BP Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey; Mr. Taleh Kazimov, Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of PASHA Bank; Mrs. Nargiz Nasrullayeva-Muduroglu, Director of business operations of Landmark Business Centre; Mr. Asad Shirinov, Caucasus Region Manager of the Coca-Cola Company and Mr. Ilgar Veliyev, Country Managing Partner of Ernst & Young Azerbaijan.
Then, per result of the presidential elections, Mr. Nuran Kerimov, Managing Partner of Deloitte Azerbaijan had been elected as new President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan.
Notably, AmCham has been working in Azerbaijan since 1996 and currently consists of 260 companies representing more than 80% of foreign investments in the country and currently serving as a bridge between the Government and private sector and having continuous constructive and result-oriented dialogue with relevant government bodies. The Chamber promotes the business interests of the member companies, contributes to the improvement of the business climate in Azerbaijan.
