Three new sports added to Summer Olympics programme

Break dancing, karate and sport climbing have each been added as medal events to the Buenos Aires 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games programme. The decision has been made at the meeting of International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board held in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Men and women will be represented equally in all three sports to maintain gender equality.
Break dancing (sport dancing) will feature for the first time at any Olympic level. Men’s, women’s and mixed team events will take place in a head-to-head "battle" format
Karate will consist of three kumite events per gender. Sport climbing will be a combined event of three climbing disciplines for both men and women.
Notably, 3rd Summer Youth Olympic Games will be held on October 1-12, 2018.
