Amy, Asif Kapadia’s tribute to the jazz and pop singer Amy Winehouse, has won the Oscar for best documentary feature.
Kapadia’s film examines how Winehouse’s addictions to alcohol and drugs intensified in fame’s glare, culminating in her death from alcohol poisoning in 2011, Oxu.az reports.
It should be noted that Kapadia is also a director of "Ali and Nino" film based on the same name novel by Kurban Said.
The actors starring in the film are Adam Bakri, María Valverde, Mendy Petinkin, Connie Nielson, Riccardo Skamarchio, Homayon Ershadi, Fakhraddin Manafov, Assaad Bab, Numan Acar, Halit Ergenç and others.
Executive producer of the film is Leyla Aliyeva, the film's producer is Chris Tike, screenwriter of "Ali and Nino" is a British novelist, screenwriter and film director Christopher Hampton.
