Temporary agreement signed between Iran and EEU on creation of free trade zone

A temporary agreement on establishment of a free trade zone between the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and Iran was signed in Astana, Kazakhstan.

According to the agreement, customs duties for export of certain goods between EEU member states and Iran have been reduced by 3 years.

During this period, officials from both sides had to prepare a full-fledged agreement on free trade zone.

Notably, negotiations on the establishment of a free trade zone will be held in December 2016.
