Head of EBRD Regional Office in Azerbaijan: "We believe that women entrepreneurs play an important role in driving economic growth"
19.4.2018

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) supports women entrepreneurs who want to develop their entrepreneurial skills, understand key financial concepts and help their businesses grow. In that context, first sessions of the Going Digital workshop were held on 17-18 April, second sessions will be conducted on 22-23 May, 2018. Fifteen women entrepreneurs representing various sectors of the economy will attend the workshop.

The Going Digital workshop aims at enhancing the entrepreneurial skills of women entrepreneurs by addressing the specific challenges women-led SMEs face at the enterprise level, including lack of exposure to modern marketing techniques or e-commerce. It gives an in-depth insight into what marketing is and how it works in practice, how to take that knowledge online, as well as how to apply theory to your own digital sphere, through websites and in social networks and e-mail.

“We believe that women entrepreneurs play an important role in driving economic growth and creating equal opportunities for women in business. Supporting them through a tailored programme provides women entrepreneurs with the know-how they need to turn their ventures into durable businesses. The Going Digital workshop will help participants to develop their business networks and entrepreneurial skills" - commented Ivana Duarte, Head of EBRD Regional Office in Azerbaijan.

The upcoming Going Digital workshop is part of the EBRD’s Women in Business programme in the Eastern Partnership which is funded by the European Union under the EU4Business Initiative, Sweden, the Early Transition Countries Fund and the Small Business Impact Fund.
