Gavur Castle (Oghuz) - The castle is one of grandiose monuments of Khachmaz region. It is located on the top of the Galadagh Mountain in the north of Ermenet village. It is known from the history that heavy battles were fought in front of this castle among the Safavids and Ottomans in order to take Shirvan and Daghistan in 1578-1583. The two-storeyed Khachmaz Gavur Castle was built from river stones and alabaster solution in the 7th century. Having seven towers, the castle was supplied by drinkable water with the help of a special water-piping. The castle had been used until the 16th century. From the remnants of the castle, it may be said that it had 12 rooms. The seven towers of the castle have also been used as home. Many earthenware materials were found out during the excavations in the territory of the castle in 1965.
